CLUB RULES & CODE OF CONDUCT

Bryanston Country Club enforces a clear set of club rules and a code of conduct to ensure a respectful and enjoyable environment for all members and guests.

Members are required to carry their membership cards at all times, which are non-transferable, and guests may not use a member’s card.

The use of laptops and other devices is permitted in designated areas such as the Terrace Restaurant and bar (until 4pm), but voice calls must be taken outside with consideration for others.

Children under 12 are not allowed in the bar after 5pm. The club prohibits bikes, scooters, hoverboards, and similar devices on the premises.

Smoking is only allowed in designated areas away from doorways, and only service dogs are permitted on the property.

Regarding guests, immediate family may visit freely when accompanied by the member, while other guests may be invited up to three times per calendar month to avoid excessive visits. Visiting golfers can play up to three times a month without a member, provided they book in advance.

Guests attending organised functions have unlimited access to the specific venue with a valid guest code. Non-members with pre-booked sporting lessons are allowed access solely for that purpose. Unaccompanied guests not fitting these categories require prior management approval.

These rules emphasise safety, respect for fellow members, and the smooth operation of club facilities. For full details and updates, members are encouraged to consult the club’s official rules and policies documentation.

BCC enforces a smart-casual dress code and specific house rules to maintain a respectful and pleasant environment for all members and guests:

Dress Code:

Golfers must wear recognised golf attire on the golf course and practice areas, including collared shirts tucked in, appropriate-length shorts (slightly above the knee), and golf shoes with soft spikes.

Sweatpants, running attire, tattered clothing, gym shirts, cut-off shirts, jeans, slip-ons, takkies, or running shoes are not allowed on the course.

In the clubhouse, a smart-casual dress code applies, and extremes of casualness are not tolerated.

When playing with the men’s Golf Captain, a jacket and tie are required at prize-giving.

Hats or caps are not to be worn inside the Clubhouse.

House Rules:

Children under 12 are not permitted in the bar after 5pm.

No bikes, scooters, hoverboards, or similar devices are allowed on the premises.

Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

Dogs are not allowed on the property.

Cellphone use is restricted on the golf course (only for emergencies) and allowed silently inside the clubhouse and halfway house.

Members are responsible for the behaviour of their guests, who must register upon arrival.

Complaints and suggestions should be submitted in writing to the Golf Director or Golf Captain and are taken seriously, with disciplinary measures for breaches of conduct.

There is a compulsory stop at the halfway house after 9 holes during golf rounds.

These rules foster a respectful, family-friendly, and well-maintained club atmosphere, consistent with the traditions and heritage of our prestigious golf and country club.
